When Sold. launched 4 months ago, we introduced a service that greatly reduced the burden of selling. From day one, our users have experienced the joy of hassle free selling. But like all good perfectionists, we knew we couldn't stop there. We continue to see areas for great improvement. The best way to find what needs improvement? Listen to the users, of course. And we have. Both those who love Sold, and those who didn't quite love it so much.
But seriously, we want to make Sold. something just about everyone loves. Something they share with their friends. So, we took everyone’s feedback and began improving the service from beginning to end. Top to bottom. Head to toe. Ok, we’ll stop with the idioms.
To make Sold even better, we're introducing changes to three main areas of the product: ease of use, speed, and payouts. And today, we’re proud to announce the release of Sold. 2.0.
We’ve increased the speed at every point of the process (pricing, selling, shipping, and payment), which has cut the end-to-end experience time in half.
We’ve greatly improved the posting experience for over 3,000 of our most popular items, which means greatly reduced back and forth before receiving a price.
For our most popular items we can now guarantee a 1 hour sale. Just another way to get you paid quicker. We're starting with tablets, smartphones, Apple laptops, cameras, MP3 players and adding more products every day.
We can now instantly price tablets and smartphones and price a majority of other items within 1 hour. For all other items we’ve cut our pricing time in half.
We’ve gathered a bunch of data that allows us to instantly reject a majority of the items we can’t sell - no more waiting 24 hours before finding out we can’t sell your item.
On average, payment will happen 5 to 6 days quicker than before. Once you hand-off your item to UPS we begin transferring money into your account, which depending on the bank, takes 2 to 3 business days.
We’ve improved our logistics enough to cut our price barrier in half, thus accepting a significantly larger amount of items - some as low as $50 market value.
And finally, we gave Sold. a new look. Sort of. It’s still the same ol’ app, but we added some new features and gave it a new coat of paint.
Overall, we like to look at this new version as the smarter, faster, better dressed version of Sold. and we’re really excited for everyone to give it a go. But we’re listening to everyone’s concerns and working day and night to make this the very best way to sell your neglected goods online. And we won’t stop until it’s done.
